【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribesamethodforrelatingpermissibleactivityreleaseratesoftheradioactivecontentscarriedwithinacontainmentsystemtoequivalentgasleakageratesunderspecifiedtestconditions.Thisapproachiscalledgasleakagetestmethodology.However,inthisInternationalStandarditisrecognizedthatothermethodologiesmightbeacceptable.Whenothermethodologiesaretobeused,itshallbeshownthatthemethodologydemonstratesthatanyreleaseoftheradioactivecontentswillnotexceedtheregulatoryrequirements.Theuseofanyalternativemethodologyshallbebyagreementwiththecompetentauthority.ThisInternationalStandardprovidesbothoverallanddetailedguidanceonthecomplexrelationshipsbetweenanequivalentgasleakagetestandapermissibleactivityreleaserate.Whereastheoverallguidanceisuniversallyagreedupon,theuseofthedetailedguidanceshallbeagreeduponwiththecompetentauthorityduringtheTypeBpackagecertificationprocess.Itshouldbenotedthat,foragivenpackage,demonstrationofcomplianceisnotlimitedtoasinglemethodology.WhilethisInternationalStandarddoesnotrequireparticulargasleakagetestprocedures,itdoespresentminimumrequirementsforanytestthatistobeused.Itistheresponsibilityofthepackagedesignerorconsignortoestimateordeterminethemaximumpermissiblereleaserateofradioactivitytotheenvironmentandtoselectappropriateleakagetestproceduresthathaveadequatesensitivity.ThisInternationalStandardpertainsspecificallytoTypeBpackagesforwhichtheregulatorycontainmentrequire-mentsarespecifiedexplicitly.
